This article discusses the problems of using artificial intelligence systems in the process of learning a foreign language. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into educational settings, offering potential benefits for learning, teaching, and administration. However, its role is complex; while AI presents powerful functionalities, it can also act as a "pseudo tool" – appearing effective on the surface but potentially masking limitations, biases, or hindering deep learning if used uncritically. This article explores the dual nature of AI in education, examining its applications as a genuine tool alongside the characteristics that lend it a pseudo-quality. It draws upon research regarding AI's impact on educational management, critical thinking, and classroom practices to argue for a nuanced understanding and responsible implementation of AI technologies. The discussion highlights the importance of critical engagement, user literacy, and clear guidelines to harness AI's potential while mitigating its risks.
