Aim: to summarize the current data on the use of artificial intelligence technology (AI) for breast cancer (BC) screening. Materials and methods. Relevant articles published from 2012 to 2022 y. were searched for the key words: "breast cancer", "artificial intelligence", "screening", "mammography". The search was performed in the open databases of PubMed, Google Scholar, Elibrary, ResearchGate. Publications with high citation indices were selected. Results. The study of the effectiveness of computer vision technology allows us to consider it as a medical decision support tool in the analysis of screening mammography examinations to determine an individual screening and follow-up strategy. Conclusions. Machine learning-based methods will not replace histologic verification in the near future. The introduction of these methods into clinical practice will be an important and promising goal to achieve reductions in breast cancer mortality.
