Use of geometric transformations in making Buryat ornaments at handicraft lessons

Бесплатный доступ

Folk ornament is an important part of historical and artistic culture, one of the most ancient types of human creativity, it was widely used in household items and clothing, in rituals and ceremonies, in festive culture. Such a wide application made it possible to preserve the motives of ornaments as an element of traditional culture of the Buryats. All Buryat ornaments can be divided into five basic groups: geometric (polylines, lines, zigzags, circles, rhombuses, stars, etc.); zoomorphic (animals, birds); plant (leaves, flowers, lotus); natural or cosmogonic (sun, moon, water); cultic. In this article we consider the possibility of using geometric transformations (central symmetry, axial symmetry, turning and parallel transfer) at handicraft lessons for making Buryat ornaments to decorate clothing, shoes, household items or jewelry.
