The author continues the analysis of mutual evaluation method in teaching university students a foreign language. The presented results are based on the author's own experience in implementing the peer assessment method in teaching students of language profiles of training at the Lipetsk State Pedagogical University from 2015 to the present. The author covers issues of the advantages and disadvantages of the peer assessment method in teaching university students. The analysis showed that the advantages of the peer assessment method can be attributed to: the development of pedagogical self-organization of students, the formation of the ability to work in a team, reducing the load on the teacher with a large number of checked tasks, as well as taking into account the specifics of the language profile of students studying foreign languages. The disadvantages we identified were the laboriousness of preliminary preparation on the part of the teacher, the risk of overspending study time during the assessment procedures by students, the risk of objectivity lack in assessing assignments by students. The author suggests possible ways to overcome the identified disadvantages of mutual evaluation method.
