Using non-standard teaching techniques in the computer science lesson

The paper discusses the issues of students’ initiative, the quality of education, increasing mastery of knowledge, the application of interactive crosswords, tests, educational computer games when assessing knowledge in the academic process. The study reveals the importance of these learning tools to increase students’ interest in and motivation for acquiring high-quality knowledge. The author examines the non-standard teaching techniques, for example, educational computer games, doing and creating crossword puzzles as well as the researches in this regard and describes the practice of applying these methods in Azerbaijani schools. The study identifies the impact of educational games on the quality of teaching computer science. The paper describes the author’s practice in applying non-standard, interactive learning techniques while teaching computer science at school. In conclusion, the research provides recommendations for improving the efficiency of teaching techniques in school education process.
