The use of the Zoom platform as primary means in the process of teaching foreign languages in non-language universities

Modern challenges facing the educational system force teachers and students to switch to a distance learning format in remote access mode using information and communication technologies and modern educational platforms. The problems of choosing effective digital resources and learning services, as well as the tools necessary for organizing online meetings with students in a distance format are currently one of the most relevant in the educational domain. This paper is devoted to the question of the effectiveness of using Zoom technology in the process of teaching foreign languages at the university, including a practical analysis of the effectiveness of this educational form among students, reflecting to the picture of the student's perception of knowledge in terms of the usefulness and ease of using the system in teaching. In addition, special attention is also paid to the evaluation of the main characteristics and didactic capabilities of the Zoom platform for the organization of distance learning of foreign languages at the university. The paper draws conclusions about the advantages and disadvantages of this platform, describes the stages of work and offers methodological recommendations, as well as lists the main difficulties that teachers and students may face with in the process of implementing of this educational form.
