Using reflection for teaching foreign languages in higher education

This article concentrates on the use of reflection in teaching foreign languages. This method is considered as a way of developing student subjectivity, increasing motivation for learning, and also as means of improving the educational environment for all participants. The article covers the advantages of introducing reflective learning technologies, types of reflection and prominent models of reflective learning. The article also provides a description of the experiment introducing prospective reflection in a foreign language course for first-year students of non-linguistic areas of training with additional methodological recommendations for conducting reflection in a classroom. In the end of the article, an analysis of the results of the experiment is carried out.
