Nowadays, information technology helps implement various teaching techniques in the educational process and enhance distance learning. The research substantiates the advantages of using screencasts by foreign language lecturers to provide their further training in particular. The paper describes the skills a teacher must possess in order to make an interesting screencast. A brief overview of the hardware and software for creating screencasts is given. In addition, the research elaborates on the procedure for employing this innovation method in foreign language classes and discusses its possible use in the project work of university students. Project work is valuable because students learn to independently acquire knowledge, analyze project information, and gain experience in cognitive and educational activities. This is exemplified by the Website Screencast mini-project of students majoring in Advertising and Public Relations. The project implementation methods are presented as well.
