The article deals with the use of the technology of edutainment in the process of teaching the foreign language of the cadets of the military university. There is analyzed the role of this technology in the raise of the cognitive activity of the students. The authors substantiate the urgency of the use of edutainment in the educational process. There is concluded that the technology of edutainment provides the optimization of the educational process and the raise of motivation to study of the foreign (Russian) language.
