This article is devoted to the analysis of immigration intentions and motivations among students of the Khabarovsk Territory. Young people are the most mobile part of the population and therefore they are often migration-oriented. Today, migration is often considered on the basis of economic factors and the level of attractiveness of a particular region. However, there are other approaches that allow us to explore other causes of it: the choice of the region and place of study, satisfaction with the conditions in the place of residence, the search for a career trajectory and working conditions - these are the motives analyzed by the author for the formation of immigration intentions. The article presents the main results of a survey of student youth in Khabarovsk, based on these aspects. The author states that the effectiveness of youth policy is determined not by reports on achievements in this area, but by the opportunities and conditions for self-realization of young people, the quality of their knowledge, the demand for their professional skills, which are the basis for meeting the needs for work, creativity and recreation.
