Research of extra-pedagogical factors of learning English by students of non-linguistic universities

The article describes the results of the study of extra-pedagogical factors of English language learning by students of State Agrarian University - Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. Motives of foreign language acquisition, methodical or organizational-methodical problems of learning are considered as extra-pedagogical factors. Such concepts as motivation and learning motives are described, their classification is given. Possible reasons for the lack of motivation are analyzed and ways to increase it are considered. The author has developed an original questionnaire for the study of extra-pedagogical factors of teaching foreign language to students of non-language universities, for whom foreign language is a non-core subject. The results were subjected to statistical processing, on the basis of which conclusions were drawn. Based on the results of the conducted study, the prospects for further research in the framework of increasing motivation and comparative analysis of motivational aspect of students of several universities are outlined.
