Study of the emotional state of family members in difficult life situations

The article reflects the results of a study of the emotional state of family members who are in a difficult life situation conducted in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The sample consisted of 117 people. The following methods were used: an author's questionnaire identifying personal problems, V. Zunge's methods, a family anxiety analysis test. Statistical processing of the results was carried out using the SPSS program; Spearman's rank correlation method was used. Unemployment of family members was found to be associated with poverty, leading to increased family anxiety, insecurity and tension; interpersonal conflict with feelings of guilt, low income and alcohol dependency. One family member's drunkenness was found to correlate with the development of depression, increased anxiety in others, and tensions in family interaction; a family member's illness was found to correlate with a normative crisis in the family. The results of the study can be used by psychologists at centers for socio-psychological support for families and youth in their practical work.
