Exploring the structure of natural identity

The recent increased attention to anthropogenic impact on the environment has intensified research interest in phenomena describing the human-nature relationship. The article presents the results of a study of the aesthetic component of natural identity. The first phase of the work was to compare the level of development of the respondents’ aesthetic sense with the structure of their experience of unity with nature. Subjects were found to describe as aesthetic experiences not related to the development of a sense of harmony, color, composition, etc. The second phase of the study compared the structure of oneness with nature with the level of natural identity using a Russified questionnaire (EID). Aesthetic experiences faced by respondents when they are oneness with nature were found to be due to the psychotherapeutic effect of such interaction. The conclusion is that that the attractiveness of nature for humans is associated not with beauty, but with a debilitate psychoactivity.
