The article presents qualitative and quantitative results of the study assessing self-esteem of migrant students, reveals the peculiarities of their social and psychological adaptation in higher schools. The authors consider the structure of the factors causing difficulties in the process of adaptation of migrant students in the educational space of the university. The key areas of problem situations of migrant student are described.
