Historical aspects of developing the system of higher geographical education in the Republic of Buryatia

The article deals with the problem of modern professional training of geography teachers in the regional university, and the relevance of studying the historical aspects of developing the system of higher geographical education in the Republic of Buryatia. Based on the methods of theoretical and empirical research, we have substantiated the stages of development of higher geographical education in the region, considered the main trends in the development of geographical education in universities of the republic. We have revealed the key trends in the development of geographical education in Dorzhi Banzarov Buryat State University, which determine the prospects for the development of the system of higher geographical education in the Republic of Buryatia.
