The paper is an attempt to draw attention to the history of the development of psychology of learning students in the understanding as the integral and relatively independent field of psychological and pedagogical knowledge. The author of the article presents different trends of psychological researches including theoretical and methodological analysis and systematization of different aspects of developing of psychology of learning students in the understanding. Historical "growth points" of the psychology of learning understanding reflect the dynamics of the development of the subject of cognition from the subject of activity to the subject of development and then to the subject of life.
