Changes of meaning and sense of a word as the reflection of new knowledge

Бесплатный доступ

The paper discusses the results of the experiment aimed at elucidating how new knowledge changes the inner mental lexicon connections. The results of the experiment allow us to conclude that new knowledge alters both quality and quantity of such connections, but only on the condition that this knowledge is experienced by man precisely as new and personally significant one. Even when the semantic and personality experience of the word is not observed in empirical material, it is not completely absent. Hence, each word potentially contains sense and personality related component that reveals in speech activity with varying regularity.
