The study of the history of fiction as a tool for linguistic and rhetorical training of specialists for the judicial system

The article actualizes the need to study a mandatory course in the history of fiction in a law school in order to effectively train linguo-rhetorical specialists for the judicial system, and draws attention to the peculiarities of teaching philological disciplines to lawyers based on a competence-based approach in the paradigm of modern education. The article reflects the theoretical provisions concerning the possibilities of using both classical and modern literature in the process of forming universal and general professional competencies of students who have chosen the specialization “Judicial activity”. The author analyzes both modern scientific pedagogical works and books of classics of Russian jurisprudence: “The art of speech in court” by P. Sergeich, “Memories of writers” by A. F. Koni, makes an attempt to outline the range of issues for study, to determine the subject and object of the course of the history of fiction at a law school, offers practical recommendations for teaching students philological analysis of the text and indicates general approaches to working with literary text as a tool in educational and practical activities.
