The phenomenon of impersonality: comparative analysis of constructions in French and Russian.

This article analyzes the phenomenon of impersonality in French and Russian. The author pays attention to general theoretical problems related to the concept of impersonality in two languages of different language groups. Among the common problems, it is necessary to highlight the definition of rheme (comment, focus) and theme within this type of constructions, the definition of the syntactic structure and semantic features of verbs and other parts of speech used in impersonal sentences. The particular interest is paid to the problem of transferring semantic features of impersonal constructions literal translation from French into Russian.
