Adaptation of international students in medical universities constitutes a significant issue encompassing multiple dimensions, which warrants thorough investigation. The speed at which international students can integrate into the academic environment directly correlates with their development into competent professionals in their respective fields. The aim of the study is to investigate the problem of adaptation of international students in a medical university. The authors come to the following conclusions: 1. The key identified adaptive problem of medical students from foreign countries is the language barrier, which was encountered by up to 44.3% of respondents. 2. Statistical analysis of the data to search for correlations revealed a number of patterns. Students with a mentor are statistically significantly less likely to need help when working with classmates (p < 0.05), and they are statistically significantly less likely to experience difficulties adapting to traffic rules (p < 0.05). Scientific novelty consists of a comprehensive approach to the study of international students’ adaptation with an emphasis on the influence of language barrier. This study is unique in that it focuses on the specifics of adaptation in the medical field, emphasizing the importance of bilingual education and the role of university educational initiatives.
