The article presents the results of implementing the inventory management system "kanban" in a healthcare organization. Within the project we developed and implemented a methodology of calculating "kanban" cards for the effective management of drugs and medical devices. The study was conducted in the polyclinic treatment room of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution “Kabansk Central District Hospital”. To determine the need for medical products we used a retrospective approach to assessing actual costs, and for drugs — a prospective approach taking into account clinical recommendations. ABC/VEN analysis was carried out to assess the importance of using drugs, which allowed optimizing the procurement structure. The introduction of the kanban system led to a significant reduction in the volume of stocks in the treatment room, a decrease in the time spent by medical personnel on ordering and receiving medical products, as well as cost savings of 69,876 rubles per year. The results of the study showed that the kanban card system optimizes the inventory management process, reduces the costs of storing inventory and improves the efficiency of medical personnel. The developed method is recommended for implementation in all medical organizations as a lean management tool in healthcare.
