Ecphrasis of the fresco "The apotheosis of Washington" by Constantino Brumidi in the novel "The lost symbol" by Dan Brown

"The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown is analysed in the context of ecphra-sis poetics. The aim of the study is to research the ecphrasis of the fresco "The Apotheosis of Washington" by Constantino Brumidi in the novel. Special attention is paid to different functions of ecphrasis, such as compositional, psychological and others. Apart from philological methods, resources related to the history and study of art are used.
