Бесплатный доступ

Today, there is no doubt that environmental concerns have become a major factor in shaping modern man’s religious views. As a result, the issues leading to the current environmental crisis in the world have been gaining increasing attention among Christian theologians. However, the question remains: what is the relationship between ecology and Christianity, and can the Christian environmental worldview be conceptualized basing itself solely on biblical narratives? The article discusses the anti-environmental criticism of Christianity by historian Lynn White, which led to the emergence of the ecological discourse in modern society. The author argues that an inaccurate interpretation of Holy Scripture has become a controversial tool for blaming Christianity for environmental problems. This, in turn, emphasizes the need for further research on Christian environmental ideas and their significance in modern society.
