Economic development of Russian regions: challenges, imbalances and strategic guidelines

The article studies structural disproportions in the economic development of Russian regions due to uneven distribution of natural resources, gap in the levels of infrastructure provision and insufficient investment activity. The key barriers to sustainable economic growth are analyzed, including dependence on raw material industries, poor diversification of regional economies and insufficient integration of digital technologies. The role of public policy in overcoming these challenges through strategies to diversify and modernize the economy, as well as to develop infrastructure and improve the investment climate is examined. The conclusions are drawn about the need for a comprehensive approach to eliminating interregional disparities to achieve sustainable and balanced growth.
