Emotional sensitivity to music and its connection to personality

Emotional sensitivity, manifested in various types of art, among teachers, diplomats and other specialists, is most directly reflected in the effectiveness of their activities. The discovered connections of integral, imaginative and cognitive emotional sensitivity to music with sensitivity in the visual (eye) and motor (reaction to a moving object) analyzers, as well as with personal characteristics (personality traits, musical preferences, the use of music in life) confirmed the concept of an integrated ability as a result of the interaction of differential sensitivity in different analyzers and as the basis of manifestation in different personal characteristics. The sample included psychology students (N = 83) aged 18–19 years. The new approach to the study of emotional sensitivity can be productively used in the vocational guidance of children in relation to professions with increased requirements for emotional sensitivity, as well as in the educational process and correctional work.
