Acute and chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses (sinusitis) are observed quite often among the adult and child populations. About 15% of the population suffers from acute and chronic sinusitis, and in 30% of cases this pathology is not diagnosed in time. Acute sinusitis consists from 40 to 60% in the structure of ambulatory treatment. The frequency of acute and chronic sinusitis is constantly growing at 1.5-2% per year. The urgency of the problem of diagnosis and treatment of persons with inflammatory processes in the paranasal sinuses, despite significant advances in the study of this pathology, does not decrease. This is evidenced by a large number of scientific publications. The work presents comparisons of endoscopic and traditional diagnostic methods and clinical recommendations for performing certain diagnostic actions.
