In the modern world, as a result of globalization and the increasing mobility of the world’s population, people are increasingly encountering representatives of other peoples. Therefore, understanding the peculiarities of someone else’s culture becomes a prerequisite for successful communication and cooperation in various fields, which directly concerns higher education. The ethnooriented approach in modern pedagogy underlies the methodology of teaching various disciplines in higher educational institutions. There is a need to take into account the linguistic and cultural characteristics of foreign students in order to optimize the educational process and create favorable conditions for the adaptation of foreigners in Russian society. It is this approach that underlies the ethnooriented methodology of teaching a number of disciplines in Russian universities.
