The article analyzes the influence of various factors on the personality of a situationally criminogenic criminal during his stay in conditions of forced isolation. Situational criminals make up approximately 1/3 of the total number of persons brought to criminal responsibility. Considering that their behavior may largely depend on circumstances, social environment, and the conditions of existence in general, the question of the increase in the level of criminogenicity of such a person when she is in the appropriate criminal environment becomes relevant. The election of a preventive measure in the form of detention and placement in a pre-trial detention center of a person who has the characteristics of a situational criminal can strengthen his further criminalization. Criminogenicity of properties and qualities will manifest itself in situations, the way out of which will be carried out in a criminal way, which in turn will affect the operational situation first of the pre-trial detention center, and then of the correctional institution. In this regard, it is advisable to take into account external penitentiary factors and internal personal factors when working with persons who have the characteristics of a situational criminal in order to prevent their subsequent criminalization. An individual approach in this case will reduce the level of criminogenicity of the prison population.
