The paper raises questions concerning the planning of socio-psychological research on the issue of coping behavior in the context of forced social isolation and distance learning of schoolchildren and students. The article deals with the analysis of educational subjects' problems caused by organization and implementation of distance learning under conditions of COVID-19 pandemic, which leads to negative emotional experiences and reactions, such as anxiety, worry, tension, stress, phobias, etc. On the basis of a theoretical analysis of the psychological and pedagogical socio-psychological literature, the components of the success of distance learning, determined by the coping strategies of students, are described. Psychological factors and socio-psychological characteristics of individuals, determining the productivity of coping strategies used in the stressful situation of distance learning under conditions of forced social isolation, are presented.
