On thermodynamics of reduction of iron oxides in water gas atmosphere

The space (3-dimensional) diagram of phase equilibriums at the reduction of iron oxides with water gas (CO-H2-H2O-CO2) is constructed. The gas phase parameters needed for thermodynamically stable existence of solid Fe3O4, FeO or Fe with gas phase are established. The surfaces of three-phase equilibriums and multi-dimensional (3-dimensional) lines of four-phase equilibriums are calculated. The method for graphical estimation of possible water gas composition being in equilibrium with iron oxides is developed.
