On the issue of modernization of the content of military-patriotic education at the university through the study of the heroic past of the Russian engine building

The article attempts to substantiate the possibility and expediency of patriotic education of aviation students through the inclusion of disciplines or elective courses on the history of national aviation engineering into the curriculum. A review of available publications on the subject of university education and the history of aeronautical engineering is presented. An overview of the available publications on the topic “Educational work at the university” and “History of aircraft construction” is presented. The facts of the development of engine building during the Soviet period are used to examine the heroism of domestic design engineers who created various modifications of engines to solve urgent wartime and peacetime problems. On the example of the facts of engine development in Soviet times, the heroism of domestic construction engineers, who created various engine modifications to solve relevant wartime and peacetime objectives, is examined. Conclusions on the significance of work on the patriotic education of student youth, on the forms of organization and conduct of this work are formulated on the basis of a study conducted by a survey of respondents from among the primary students of the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Aviation University.
