On the issue of improving the quality of teaching foreign languages in a non-linguistic higher education institution

The article considers the features of communicative competence formation as a necessary condition for mastering a foreign speech. Modern requirements for a specialist entering international communication dictate the need to develop and improve all components of this competence, which entails the need to rethink foreign education and training in the teaching process in non-linguistic universities.
