On the Social Dimension of A. F. Losev’s Concept of Absolute Mythology

The question of the socio- philosophical dimension of Losev’s work and, in particular, of his theory of myth, can be considered from two perspectives. The biographical perspective takes into account the peculiarities of Losev’s relationship to the social reality that surrounded him. The philosophical perspective implies a conceptual analysis of the philosophical system of the thinker with the identification and reconstruction of its inherent social/political/historiosophic content and teleology. The article considers the second of these perspectives and partially reconstructs one of Losev’s socio- philosophical ideas.
