Considering the issue of the creation of the image of protagonist in the genre of classical detective (based on the works of A. Christie and A. Conan Doyle)

The creation of images of protagonists by the writers - the authors of the detective genre A. Christie and A. Conan Doyle is considered. There are the linguistic means used by the author in the process of creating the figure and the directions of the categorization forming the image of the main detective hero in the center of attention. The images of Miss Marple, H. Poirot and Sh. Holmes are studied both in the individual and comparative aspects.
