Towards tendencies in translation of Russian classics at the turn of the 21st century

Comparative analysis of studies investigating perception and reception of Russian classics through translation in the UK, the USA, France, Spain and Latin America reveals some universal features. These include, inter alia, a growing tendency towards foreignization and, in some cases, defamilirization as methods enabling the most accurate and faithful reproduction of the original's meanings and the author's unique style.
