To the question of the relevance of developing a private methodology for investigating embezzlement committed in the field of road construction

The article studies crimes related to theft in the field of road construction. The prevalence of these crimes, their negative impact on the economic sector of our country is noted, and attention is also drawn to the lack of comprehensive forensic knowledge about the initial stage of the investigation of this category of crimes. This study was conducted in order to substantiate the actual problems that arise during the investigation of this category of crimes and require detailed study. When writing the work, the dialectical method of cognition and the complex of general scientific and private scientific methods of studying legal phenomena and processes, as well as special forensic methods, based on it, were used. The final part summarizes and suggests specific directions for further scientific research in this area, the purpose of which should be a comprehensive generalization of knowledge necessary to improve the effectiveness of countering theft in the field of road construction.
