Concerning the research activity of foreign students at a Russian university

The study generalizes the research activity practices of foreign students at a Russian university. The concept of the student’s research activity is considered, and its place in the learning process is identified. The paper emphasizes that the student’s research activities help an international trainee immerse in job-related language situations and develop skills in searching for relevant information in a foreign language environment. Based on the researches and personal experience of teaching Russian as a foreign language, the author identifies the methodically significant aspects of the Russian language teacher activities, determines the content of linguistic didactics at all stages of the research activities of a foreign student. The study substantiates the importance of a lecturer teaching Russian as a foreign language while developing the research skills of foreign students and managing their cognitive activity.
