On the Issue of Determining the Methodological Foundations for Building Culturally-Based Music and Pedagogical Education in a Multiethnic Region (On the Example of the Republic of Dagestan)

The article analyzes the specific conditions for building culturally-based music and pedagogical education in such a multiethnic and multi-confessional region as the Republic of Dagestan. The methodological foundations of the study of the problems of implementing the principle of cultural conformity are modern concepts of philosophy, pedagogy of artistic, including musical education, which are crucial for regional music and pedagogical education. As socio-cultural factors influencing the implementation of the principle of cultural conformity in music and pedagogical education in the Republic of Dagestan, the following are highlighted: the diversity of musical culture and the indigenous peoples inhabiting it; the “renaissance” of religious identity of Dagestanis, the inconsistency of ideological beliefs about the role of music in human life; a long period of stagnation of musical education in the region. Conclusion dwells upon the fact that the regional process of general and professional musical education of the young generation should be based on the ethnic and religious identity of the students. In this case, it is possible to expand their worldview against the background of understanding the essence of music and preserving the uniqueness of its popular perception and reproduction.
