The article is devoted to the qualitative characteristics of beer as a factor of competitiveness. The technical re-equipment of enterprises, the introduction of high-performance filling lines and growth of demand for environmentally friendly product play a significant role in increasing the production output and improving the quality of Russian beer. However, the underdevelopment of raw materials base is one of the factors hindering its development.
