The category “equivocation” in the aspect of the literary characterology: the truth of the simplicity

The category “equivocation” is analyzed in the aspect of the fictional characterology as the correlate of the category “contradiction”. There is substantiated the theoretical and methodological reasonability of its introduction into the research vocabulary of the modern literary studies. The problems of the analytical approach to the fictional text as the form of the author’s self-representation are discussed, supported by the philosophic and religious concepts of the truth and the simplicity.
