As a poet and translator who lived in China for more than thirty years and knew Chinese language quite well, V. Pereleshin gave an important meaning to the image of China in his works and translation activities. Now we need an objective and positive study of this topic. This article aims to find out the true attitude of the poet to China and its culture, the meaning and value of China and its image in the works by V. Pereleshin, as well as the influence of Chinese culture on his poetic activities, and to conduct an objective review of the level of his Chinese knowledge On the basis of a detailed analysis, we can conclude that Pereleshin's feeling for China develops over time, is in a state of change, and we should consider this topic with a developing position. The study of the artistic world of V. Pereleshin and the place in his work of reflections on the "three motherlands" allows us to understand some of the features characteristic of his work and some features of the literature of the Russian "Eastern" emigration. V. Pereleshin was fascinated by China and often included motives and images associated with Chinese culture in his creativity; he even composed his own poems in the style of ancient Chinese poetry. The exotic flavor of a mysterious ancient country was present in his works: original plot twists, original images made the process of reading his works exciting. It should be especially noted that V. Pereleshin's interest in Chinese culture was expressed in the fact that he began to independently study the Chinese language. This allowed him to actively engage in translations into Russian of works of Chinese classical literature and works of contemporary Chinese writers such as Lu Xin, as well as translate a number of biographies of Chinese celebrities into Russian. In this article, the author dwells on the problems associated with the place that China occupied in the writer's work - his "Second Homeland".
