Clinical and statistical approaches for kidney stones classification

Necessity of including in statistical classification of urolithiasis the criteria «location and size of stones» is considered in this article. For achievement of the purpose authors had select 90 patients with pelvic and staghorn stones. These patients have been divided into 3 groups: group I (30 persons) - patients with pelvic stones ≤ 2 sm in diameter, group II (30 persons) - patients with pelvic stones > 2 sm in diameter, group III (30 persons) - patients with staghorn stones К4. Criteria on which the comparative analysis of three studied groups was carried out were: methods of investigation, methods of surgical treatment of patients, methods of conservative treatment of patients, medium duration of stay in clinic, cost of treatment. As a result of this work we have found significant differences both in investigation and in treatment of these patients that confirms necessity of the account of criterion «localization and the sizes of stones of kidneys» by working out of new statistical classification of urolithiasis.
