The article is devoted to minimalism as a creative concept and direction in the design of the XX-XXI centuries. The subject of the research is the project culture of industrial and post-industrial society. The research topic is minimalism as a creative concept in design, including in fashion design. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of the concept of minimalist design in design and fashion design, to trace the development of the concept from its inception to the present, to show its features at each stage of development. The hypothesis of the study-minimalism in design, which emerged as one of the directions of functionalism with a focus on mass production and ensuring high aesthetic quality of mass production, in the post-industrial era is associated more with environmental issues, including human ecology.
