The article deals with the analysis of the linguistic and cognitive model of the concept “space”, supposing the formation of the nominative field of the concept, the description of the nominating language means and the revealing of their characteristics as the component of the author’s language picture of the world in one of the early stories of the neo-realist writer I.A. Bunin. There are characterized the means of the lexical representation of the concept “space” and the peculiarities of their functioning in the story “To the World’s End”.
