Concepts "smile" and "laughter" in the Kalmyk linguoculture

The article explores the peculiarities of the manifestation of smiles and laughter in the Kalmyk linguistic culture, examines their implementation in the communicative behavior of Kalmyks. Laughter and smile as emotional reactions form the laughter culture of the Mongolian peoples, in particular Kalmyk. Using the example of historical and scientific information, as well as the Kalmyk pararemy and various Kalmyk dictionaries, it is shown that Kalmyks have developed their own laughter culture, which can be viewed as a system. It contains warnings, recommendations, rules, which makes it a harmonious whole system. Smile and laughter in the culture of the Kalmyk people and in the communication of people have similar functions: they are important means of transmitting emotions and social signals indicating the absence of danger and adaptive behavior, since serve as an effective means of studying the interlocutor. They reveal the character, mood, and state of mind of a person, pointing to the sincerity/insincerity of emotions and the relationship of a person to a communicator.
