Expressionism is acurrent in art of the rst third of the 20th century, which developed in Germany in the premonition of the First World War, as areaction to the destruction of the values of Western European culture. In the pictorial solution, the predecessors of expressionists are postimpressionists (especially Vincent van Gogh) E.Munch, D.Ensor. Another source for expressionists remained German Romanticism and Pre Romanticism. The subject of this study is the work of German expressionist directors. The problem of human creation is formed even in the German cultural tradition, which is already seen in the work of I.V.Goethe, and even earlier in German mysticism. German expressionist directors also addressed this tradition. In the era of articial intelligence, this problem appears to be especially relevant, therefore, an appeal to the work of German expressionists also seems relevant. The purpose of the study is to identify human models in the work of German expressionist directors. The work of such directors as O.Rippert, P.Wegener, Р.Leni, R.Wine, F.Lang is considered. The novelty of this study is primarily related to the choice of topic, since it is fundamentally new, as well as with the purpose of the study. is study uses an integrated approach: acomparative method is used, as well as phenomenological and intertextual methods
