The paper attempts to compare and juxtapose modern views of context and contextualizing resources in text and discourse. It turns out that in different research environments (discourse studies, cognitive studies, text linguistics hermeneutics and others) context has been viewed in similar light. Building and reviewing contextual resources appears to be responsible for intentional focusing of reflective efforts in translation.
