The article deals with the problem of freedom in the framework of the research strategy of the Saint Petersburg school of social synergy. The freedom provides the “convertibility” of cultural universals in the ontological, epistemological and axiological aspects. It makes them the most important evolutionary steps for the construction of an absolute value within the common to all mankind ideal, the achievement of which is associated with super-attractor. When freedom, goodness, beauty and truth are in a state of “relative translatability” the order and stability is establishing in the society. And on the contrary, the situation of their “untranslatability” is fraught with crisis, decline and chaos. One of the ways towards super-attractor is the process of differentiation and integration of ideals and values. The valuable dominant (ideal) in contradistinction to the cognitive (the truth) requires a man’s choice of his values (existential, moral, political, religious) for building them in a hierarchical system that responds to the needs of human development. The relevance of the topic is in the formation of the methodology search for the general content of the cultural universals such as freedom, truth, goodness, beauty, and also in the determining of the common to all mankind content of the same name ideals that let the people make a good choice both in life and in history.
Freedom, cultural universal, value, ideal, social self-organization, super-selection, super-attractor
