This article presents the results of a study defining the coping strategies and empathic abilities features among representatives of helping professions with different levels of emotional burnout. The questionnaire of the emotional burnout (K. Maslach, S. Jackson), the questionnaire of empathic abilities (V.V. Boyko), coping test (R. Lazarus), self-assessment test of stress resistance (S. Cowhen and G. Willianson) are used as the research methods. The study involved 40 teachers and juvenile affairs inspectors (average age - 37,5 years, average experience -10 years), who were divided into three groups - with high, medium and low levels of emotional burnout. The correlations between empathic abilities, coping strategies and emotional burnout in the studied groups are found. The hypotheses about the existence of differences between indicators of coping strategies and empathic abilities and difference in the structure of connections between coping strategies and empathic abilities among representatives of helping professions with different levels of emotional burnout are confirmed. The results may be used to create programs for the prevention and correction of emotional burnout among specialists in helping professions.
