Brief view on the history of the dictation

The article deals with the methodology of the dictation used in the West European didactics during the XVII - the second half of the XVIII century). There are defined the chronological frameworks of the implementation period in the native linguistic and methodological practice and the adaptation of the dictation. There are revealed the deep historical bases that determine the appearance of linguistic and methodological binary opposition “copying vs dictation”.
